ABSTRACT

Il termine bonding è nato negli Stati Uniti nel 1982, il quale indica il processo di formazione del legame che si instaura tra mamma/caregiver e neonato a partire dal concepimento, per poi fiorire nelle ore, giorni, settimane dopo il parto. Ciò viene favorito dallo Skin to Skin, pratica di posizionamento del neonato in contatto diretto con la propria madre subito dopo la nascita a partire già in sala parto od operatoria; viene posto nudo sul grembo materno in modo da cominciare la conoscenza fisica tra mamma e neonato che finora era limitata a pensieri, movimenti fetali e alla pancia che cresceva.
Per promuovere questo processo è necessario anzitutto la formazione di tutte le figure sanitarie che si prenderanno cura della puerpera per tutta la gravidanza e il post partum e del neonato.
