CONCLUSIONI

Il bagnetto, se è praticato secondo i tempi e le modalità adeguate, consente di mantenere l’integrità cutanea e riduce e previene il rischio di infezione.

La tempistica delle attività di care va personalizzata e non deve costituire una routine, in questo si inserisce anche il bagnetto al neonato, che per troppo tempo è stato eseguito precocemente, interferendo così sul naturale andamento dei tempi della nascita.

Nascere significa separarsi in maniera improvvisa dalla figura materna e di conseguenza passare da un ambiente sicuro e protetto ad un ambiente più insicuro ed avverso.
Il nostro compito, sempre in un'ottica di care, è far sì che questo passaggio sia il meno traumatico possibile.
Un neonato ha bisogno di sentire il calore e l'odore della sua mamma: il contatto pelle a pelle permette un comportamento innato istintivo. Questo comportamento (breast crawl), derivante dai suoi riflessi primordiali, assicura la sopravvivenza e facilita la transazione dalla vita intrauterina alla vita extrauterina.

La Care guarda sicuramente al benessere psichico, ma ha anche solide basi per quanto riguarda il benessere fisico.

Ormai molti studi, e le raccomandazioni stesse dell'OMS, mostrano come sia importante, anche in una routine delle nursery come il bagnetto, la tempistica e le modalità: per lo sviluppo corretto del microbiota, una riduzione dei casi di ipotermia, una riduzione del pianto vigoroso, ed infine come tutto ciò influisca sul futuro dell'allattamento al seno.
